Hello and thanks for stopping by! I’m Vessy, and I was born and raised in Bulgaria, a small Eastern European country on the Balkan Peninsula. Bordered by the Black Sea on the East, Romania on the North, Serbia and Macedonia on the West, and Greece and Turkey on the South, my homeland is truly a beautiful place. Even though it’s quite small, it has it all, from soft-sand beaches to high, rugged mountain ranges.
Currently, I live in Texas with my husband, Cameron, two daughters, Angie and Dani, and golden retriever, Sammy. I work as an independent travel agent/consultant and absolutely LOVE helping people plan unforgettable experiences and trips of a lifetime. My specialties include FAMILY, ADVENTURE, and LUXURY travel. Click HERE to check out my professional profile…And definitely get in touch if you need help with your travel aspirations! The best way to reach me is to send me an e-mail to planmyvacay@yahoo.com.
Where It All Started
My passion for adventure and travel began at a very young age, as my parents took me and my sister on hiking trips in the beautiful Bulgarian mountains of Rila, Pirin, and the Rhodopes. Travel, however, did not become my profession until much later in life.
My Many Careers
Classical Pianist and Piano Teacher
After graduating from high school, I came to the US to study music. My ambitions at the time were to become an accomplished classical pianist and a respected teacher. Eventually, I got both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Music while teaching and performing extensively. There came a point when I started feeling burned out from this lifestyle and decided I needed to try something new.
ICU Registered Nurse
Since I’ve always loved teaching and working with people, I thought nursing might be a good career choice for me. Without much hesitation, I dove right in, and in a few years added a Bachelor in Nursing Science to my ever-growing collection of college degrees. I began working as an ICU nurse on a heart transplant unit and kept it up for several years. Slowly, the stress and long hours got to me, and once again I found myself longing for a change. I went back to teaching piano and really enjoyed it. However, I realized that during all these years, there was always one constant passion in my life, my endless love for exploring the world. This is when I decided to make my great passion my profession…
Travel Blogger and Travel Agent
…And this is how my blog, Feel Good and Travel, was born! The name came to me spontaneously, as it described exactly what I wanted in life – to feel good and travel! In the blog, you will find travel stories, destination itineraries, travel tips, and plenty of photos from our own experiences. As Feel Good and Travel slowly grew over the last few years, my family and I have been invited to do a number of sponsored trips and review various attractions and points of interest.
While blogging has been a lot of fun, I recently decided that I needed to add another way of reaching people and sharing my passion for travel with them. So, I enrolled in The Travel Institute and took their excellent introductory travel agent course. I am proud to say, I passed my Travel Agent Proficiency (TAP) exam with 98%, and here I am! Feel Good and Travel is no longer just a travel blog, but also a travel agency, and I am so excited to help you turn your travel dreams into reality!
